Sperryville Firemen Plan Queen Contest
The Sperryville Fire Department invites young ladies from that area to participate in the 1968 Carnival Queen contest \yhich Is held in connection with the annual carnival July 17, 18, 19 and 20. Contestants will be divided into two groups; from ages 6 to 13 and from 14 to 21. Only single girls are eligible. Each candidate will place a jar with her name and picture in business establishments In the area and votes are cast at a penny each. The girl in each group collecting the greatest number of votes is declared queen and a cornonation ceremony will take place during the carnival. Jimmy Wayland is chairman of the contest and all candidates should contact him to enter.
Sperryville Youth Group Sponsors Car Wash
The Sperryville Youth Group will sponsor a Car Wash on Saturday, June 22, in the yard of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church in Sperryville from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The wash will include a complete exterior and interior job.
