Following the service, there will be lunch on the church grounds. The Rev. George W. Bowman, III will be the speaker for the Dedication Service at two o’clock. Rev. Bowman was pastor of the Woodville and Mt. Lebanon Baptist Churches from 1953 to 1957. At the present time, he is Assistant Director of the School of Pastoral Care of the Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Two other former pastors will also be on the program, the Rev. John Adams now serving the Mt. Olivet Baptist Church in Beaver Dam, and the Rev. Gary Baldwin, now retired and living in Culpeper County.
Archers Bagged 337 Deer in 67-68,Season
A tabulation of Game Commission Big Game Kill tags reveals that archers bagged 337 whitetailed deer in Virginia during the 1967-68 hunting season, according to Research Biologist Jack Gwynn. Of these, 185 were taken west of the Blue Ridge and 152 east. Chesterfield County, aided by special hunts on Presquile National Wildlife Refuge, led the state with 39 bow-killed deer. Twenty-seven of the eastern total were bagged in Patrick County. The Newport News, Hampton area yielded 23; Augusta and Wythe Counties were the best in the west with 19 animals each. Grayson and Rockingham each reported 19. The season was nearly the same as the previous year when archers downed 320 deer in the state.
Biarbecue in Amissville
The Amissville Ruritan Club will hold the annual pit cooked barbecue at Amissville carnival grounds on Saturday, July 6, 1968. The succulent beef, cooked in a pit over night, will be served with vegetables, drink and dessert. Hours for serving are from 5 to 9 p.m.

Nancy Atkins Noakes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Atkins, of Flint Hill, received her Stenographic diploma from Roller Business College, in Front Royal, during graduation exercises held Friday evening, June 7. Mrs. Noakes is a graduate of Rappahannock County High School, Class of '66. She resides in Front Royal with her husband Eddie and is employed at the Warren County Welfare Office.
