450 Apply for Game Warden Jobs
A total of 450 applications were received in the latest Game Warden recruitment program, reports Game Commission Law Enforcement Chief John McLaughlin. About 100 of these are scheduled for oral interviews and physical agility tests in Richmond and Roanoke in late June and early July. From this group approximately 12 will be selected for training at a special three-week school in September and eventual certification as Game Warden Trainees. All applicants took a detailed written examination which was used as a basis for selecting candidates for the oral interviews. Those hired will be classified as Game Warden Trainees for 12 months and will then be assigned to permanent positions as openings arise

Stanley Foster of Flint Hill has sold his 24J-acre farm on State Road 631 about three miles northwest of Flint Hill to Mr and Mrs. Anthony A. Lapham of Washington, I). G\, it was announced this week The farm includes a top-producing apple orchard, pastureland, tenant house and other farm improvements, and it adjoins the Shenandoah National Park on the west. The sale was negotiated by Edward A. Harris & Associates of Huntly. The Stanley Foster farm is adjacent to a farm and orchard awned by his brother, Herbert Foster, a member of the Hoard of Supervisors, who will continue to jperate the apple orchards under a ease agreement with the Laphams.
