Bell Ringing July 4th
Culpeper Minute Men Chapter DAR is sponsoring a Bell Ringing on July 4. All churches are asked to cooperate by having their bells rung for two minutes at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 4.
Sperryville Scout Group Camps at Rock Enon
Six members of the Sperryville Boy Scout Troop No. 65 with Scoutmaster Rev. William A. Harrison spent last week at the Boy Scout Camp Rock Enon at Gore. Attending were Bill Stokes, Bill Kilby, Bobby Titchenell, Chucky Jenkins, Frank Coffey and Gary Wayland. During the week 19 Merit Badges were awarded, one advancement in rank. Tlie Merit Badges were awarded as follows: Bobby Titchenell; Soil and Water conservation, Conservation of Natural Resources and Nature. Bill Stokes: Conservation and Natural Resources, Swimming, Wood, Carving and Leather Work. Bill Kilby; Canoeing, Botany, Archery and Wood Carving. Frank Coffey; Canoeing and Leather Work. Chuck Jenkins; Wood Carving and Basketry. Gary Wayland; Swimming, Life Saving, Canoeing and Rowing. ^ Gary Wayland and Scoutmaster Harrison were tapped out for Order of the Arrow. This is an Honorary Group of the Boy Scouts of America, with life- long membership.
