When the couple left for a trip to Niagara Falls and Canada, the bride wore a brown linen dress with beige accessories and the corsage lifted from her bouquet. Mr. and Mrs. Dodson will make their home in Castleton. Mrs. Dodson is employed with the Lady Fair Beauty Salon in Warrenton. Mr. Dodson is employed with Quarles Oil Company, Warrenton.
Mrs. Settle Hosts Amissville HD Club
Mrs. Robert B. Settle entertained the Amissville Homemakers Club Monday night at her home near the village. The feature of the meeting was a demonstration by Mrs. F. L. Bowey on making 3-D pictures to frame. Announcement was made of a meeting on caning chairs scheduled for 10a.m. Thursday, July 18 at the B. A. Cook Upholstery Shop in Amissville. The meeting is open to anyone interested in chair caning.
The Amissville Club usually gives a camp scholarship to a 4-H club member of the area. Susan Latham is the recipient this year of the scholarship in the amount of $15 and will attend camp at Holiday Lake, Appomattox from July 15-20. She will be required to make a report of her activities at camp at the August meeting of the Homemakers Club. Seventeen members of the club were present for Monday’s meeting and in addition two guests attended. They were Mrs. Marilyn Gray of Rixeyville and Mrs. Silas Martin, Amissville.
