Back Music Contest
On Saturday, August 3, and Sunday, August 4, the Warrenton-Fauquier Jaycees will again sponsor the 18th Annual National Championship Country Music Contest.
The contest will be held at scenic Lake Whippoorwill Park about two miles east of Warrenton.
The winners of six big categories will divide $1200 in prize money. The categories are as follows: Male Vocal, Female Vocal, Band, Fiddle, Banjo, Miscellaneous.
Starting time for the contest will be 6 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Highlighting this year’s affair will be Leon Ashby and Margie Singleton for Saturday night and the fabulous Roy Drusky and his band for Sunday.
Contestants may register at the contest either on Saturday or Sunday. •
