Make Fall Plans
The regular dinner meeting of the Amissville Ruritan Club last Wednesday evening was enlivened by the reports of summer activities and tentative plans for a Fall Horse Show. Following the treat of a home cooked dinner served by the W. S. C. S. of the local Methodist Church, club president R. B. Settle requested vice president Gilbert Lawrence to call for committee reports.
Robert Andrews who heads the management and coaching ol Youth Baseball, stated that there are now 42 members on the boys squad. Recent games gave the older boys an 8-0 win ovei Jeffersonton and a 20-1 triumph by the younger group over theii opponents from the same district The Amissville girls have formec an unsponsored group now numbering 26, which have alsc been granted permission to use the field.
Charlie Priest reported < financially successful outcome ol I the club’s recent barbecue dinner a token of the popularity of thi: well served and well attendee affair.

Following the business of the meeting, T. C. Barron introduce* former Postmaster Claude Guini of Culpeper as guest speaker. Mr Guinn spoke feelingly on ou responsibility to American today which whould run just as stronj as that of the group of Virginian and other patriots who met it Philadelphia in 1776.
