Charolais breeders are planning to hold their second annual feeder calf sale. This year it will be at Albemarle Livestock Market, Charlottesville, Virginia on October 1st. Cattlemen having cross-bred Charolais calves they wish to put in this sale should contact Lyle R. Kindig, Stuarts Draft, Virginia.

C. E. Johnson, Jr. purchased a Wye Plantation bull to add to his herd at The Oaks. According to Mr. Johnson this bull’s pedigree combines the best of bloodlines had at Wye throughout the years of their successful cattle breeding program.

Calves of nine Rappahannock herds enrolled in the official Beef Cattle Improvement Association’s program will be weighed and graded August 9th-13th. The schedule for weighing and grading in four herds enrolled in the Commercial Program has not been completed.

Have deep feelings over the thoughts of the Glaenzers leaving Rappahannock. In my book, both Mr. and Mrs. are unsung heroes. They have certainly contributed a; great deal more physically, mentally, financially and spiritually to the welfare of Rappahannock citizens individually and collectively than have most of us!
We wish them well where ever they may go or be.
