Schools Open Tues.
Rappahannock County Schools open Tuesday, August 27, and will be in session until 2 p.m. the first day. The regular schedule will be resumed thereafter. Cafeterias will be open the first day of school.
School enrollment in Rappahannock has increased over the past few years though school buildings are on the decline because of consolidation. TTiere is one elementary School and one high school in the county now. Total enrollment in the elementary school will be in excess of 800; at the high school it is estimated at possibly
Mrs. Mary Quaintance, principal of the elementary school, advises that children living in the Sperryville area will meet the bus at Johnson’s Store or across from the old post office building. Those on the packing house road should meet in front of the Roy Alther home or at Miller’s lane. Previous announcement concerning the bus, had not been clear.
