Boundaries of the various communities where elections will be held are: Stonewall, Wakefield, Hampton, Piedmont and Jackson.
The Chairman reminded farmers that the elections will choose three committeemen and two alternates for each community. The chairman, vice chairman, and regular member of the elected ASC committee will also serve as delegates to the county convention to be held soon thereafter, where farmers will be elected to fill vacancies on the ASC county committee. The alternate committeemen will serve as alternate delegates to the convention.
Farmers eligible to cast ballots in the community committee election will be all those who are eligible to participate in one or more of the national farm programs which the committeemen help to administer locally. The farmer may be an owner, tenant, or sharecropper. Persons not of legal voting age who are in charge of the farming operation on an entire farm are also eligible to vote in the elections. Eligibility to vote' or to hold office as a committeeman -- is not restricted by reason of race, color, creed, sex or national origin.
