Three hundred and forty Rappahannock calves were weighed and graded last Friday and MOnday and Tuesday of this week in nine herds enrolled in the official BCIA program. While we didn’t get to see all the calves, generally they appeared to be bigger ’n better than a year ago.
Also, we got to see the young bulls on feed test at Ray Cannon’s. This is a nice set of bulls that are doing remarkably well. Go see, while there take a look at the head man in the herd. We call him a right kind to head a commercial herd. In fact he looks a lot better in his working clothes than many bulls do in name-herds.
