What is life? There are many definitions. Let’s examine a few. Life is a state of being; the period during which a person or thing exists. Some students were asked to define life. One said, “Life is a joke on us, not even funny.” Another, “Life is a disease, the only cure is death.” and, “Life is a prison sentence imposed on us for the crime of being bom.” A witty sage type says, “Oh, don’t worry about life, I you’ll never get out of it alive.” a' Persian poet penned these lines.... “Into this Life, and why not knowing
Nor Whence, like water willy-nilly flowing;
And out of IT, as wind along the WASTE,
I know not WHITHER, willy-nilly, blowing.”
Anyway, after life-WHAT?
Some refer to life as a pilgrimage. “Pilgrims in a foreign land.” “I’m a pilgrim here, just passing through.” John Bunyon’s pilgrim had his tribulations, we all do. Pilgrims are travelers that have an end in view.
When will our pilgrimage end, what is our final destination?
