Next Sunday the Sunday School lesson is titled “Christ Our High Priest.” In Hebrews fifth chapter, fifth verse we find these words, “Christ did not claim for himself the dignity of the high priesthood.”
To my poor way of thinking the office of the priest was abolished with Christ’s coming. There was no more need for the sacrifice, He was the sacrificial lamb, no need for the priest as an intercessor, He gave to everyone the right to go directly to OUR FATHER. In so doing He also gave to us the kinship of brother with himself, and if we follow the Path (THE WAY) we may attain son-ship with the Father.
