Marion G. Watts of Washington sustained serious injuries in a collision Christmas Eve ori Route 522 about three miles south of Woodville. He received multiple bone fractures including both legs, ribs and collarbone and lacerations of the face and head. He was taken to Culpeper Hospital by the Rappahannock Rescue Squad and then on to theyUniversity of Virginia Hospital. Since then he has been transferred to McGuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond.
The collision occurred about 9 p.m. as Mr. Watts was traveling south on Route 522 in a 1968 Plymouth. According to Trooper J. B. Willis who investigated the crash, the Watts vehicle veered into the northbound lane and struck the tandem wheels of a; tractor-trailer rig1 he was meeting.! The 65 Mack tractor was owned by Bralley Willet Tank Lines, Inc. of Richmond and was operated by James Thomas Jett of Fredericksburg.
Two cars collided on Route 612 in Sycamore Hollow two miles north of Sperryville on December 28. A 1966 Ford operated by Donal Bruce Day was struck by a 62 Chevrolet operated by George Edward Woodard. Both drivers are of Sperryville. According to Trooper Willis, the
