Marsh Seeks Aid For
Fire, Rescue Squads
Rep. John O Marsh, Jr , has introduced in Congress, two bills to assist volunteer fire companies and rescue squads.
One, which Marsh had sponsored in the previous! Congress, would give these non profit organizations a priority in the receipt by donation or purchase of surplus federal equipment of use to them.

"The voluntary and non profit character of these local fire companies and rescue squads represents a substantial reduction in potential charges on the taxpayer for the services rendered, wh(ch, otherwise, would have to be supported fully by taxes," Marsh commented, "in these circumstances, therefore, they should participate m the recognition federal law has given, ill the public interest to other service functions performed by non profit, voluntary organizations
