Deer Kill Double

The 1968-69 deer kill in Rappahannock County approximately doubled that of the previous year. 78 deer were killed and checked in Rappahannock. When the checking cards from the adjoining counties are turned in the county 'will probably show a kill of about 85. This is compared the last years official harvest of 41. This year’s figure is more in keeping with what has been the county’s usual kill, which had been averaging about 100.
Those hunters scoring late in the season included: Robert Sealock of Falls Church, a 2 point buck; Doug Calhoun, Front Royal, 9 points; Kenneck Stickly, Strasburg, 4 points; John Rohebough, Centreville, 2 points; and Dorsey W. Rohebough of Fairfax with a doe. Also taking bucks were B. J. Moss of Castleton, an 8 pointer and Floyd Cubbage, Stanley, 9 points.
