When final results were in! Monday night following the first} games of the District 10; Tournament, the four top teams, Luray, Broadway, Montevideo and Turner Ashby, had all survived their openers. While Luray and Montevideo breezed by their opponents to win handily, the other two didn’t have it quite so easy. The Knights just got by Central, and the game of interest on the local scene saw Rappahannock give second-seeded Broadway a real battiest Winchester before going down, 72-58.
That final score made the Gobbler win seem more decisive than it actually was. The exciting first half was a nip-and-tuck affair which ended with the underdog Panther squad trailing by but a single point, 34-33.
