Mr*. Lucy Clater
Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 22, in the SperryviUe Cemetery for Mrs. Lucy Jenkins Clater, 54, of SperryviUe. The Rev. William Harrison and the Rev. Paul Thompson officiated.
Mrs. Clater, the widow of Jesse Clarke Clater, died Wednesday, February 19, 1969, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. She was a lifelong resident of Rappahannock County, a daughter of the late John Powell Jenkins and Lula May Durham Jenkins. She was a member of Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Daniel C. Clater, stationed with the U. S. Army in Vietnam, and Kenneth D. Clater of Amissville; a sister, Mrs. William J. Brown of Front Royal and a brother, John Powell Jenkins of Boulder, Colo.
Pallbearers at the funeral service were Charles Dodson, F. D. Coffey, Jack Clater, Carlton Atkins, J. W. Brown, Douglas Perkins, Wilson Burke and Robert Pete Clater.
Charles K. Jenkins
Charles Kinzy (Charlie Boot) Jenkins of SperryviUe died February 23, 1969 at the University of Virginia Hospital at the age of 73.
A native of Rappahannock County he was the son of the late William Boot Jenkins and the late Flora Lee Jenkins.
Surviving with his wife, Mrs. Nettie Pearl Jenkins of SperryviUe, are six daughters, Mrs. Fenton Lee Turley, Mrs. Florine Mollie Jenkins and Mrs. Catherine Nettie Turley, all of Vienna, Mrs. Martha Washington Weakley, Mrs. Dorothy Ann Jenkins and Mrs. Peggy Jane Fisk, all of SperryviUe; two sons, Charles William Jenkins and George Boot Jenkins, both of SperryviUe. Also two brothers, Ellis Herbert Jenkins of SperryviUe and Clarence William Jenkins of Arlington; 28 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held Thursday, February 27, at 2 p.m. at Nethers Pentecostal Church with burial in the Jenkins family cemetery, near SperryviUe.
