Many people are asking questions at the social security office about how the higher tax contributions will affect their future payments at retirement time.
Contributions will be deducted on earnings up to $7,800 in 1969 and people earning $7,800 or over a year will ,pay $31.20 more social security tax for the year. This is caused by the tax rate increasing 2/5 of one percent beginning with the 1969 tax year.
