Gore Attends 4-H Conservation Camp
Approximately 200 young people from throughout the state attended State 4-H Conservation Camp at Camp Farrar, Virginia Beach last week.
Among those at camp was Richard Gore, Jr. of Castleton.
During their stay at the 4-H camp members studied such conservation topics as forestry, wildlife, soil and water and insects. Classes were taught by Extension specialists from Virginia Tech. They also studied human conservation, firearm safety, wildlife ecology and archery.
“Purpose of the camp is to help the young people improve leadership abilities, increase appreciation and understanding of natural and human resources and to develop new friendships,” said Jack M. Tyree, State 4-H Leader.
