Mrs. George Hackley
Mrs. Bertha Lee Hackley of Amissville died July 20, 1969 in the University of Virginia Hospital, Charlottesville after an illness of several months. She was 74, the daughter of the late William Jacob Weaver and Alice LaFontaine Amos of the Amissville area.
Survivors include her husband, George Wallace Hackley; one daughter, Mrs. Alice H. Hitt of Amissville; three sons, George Russell, James Lewis and Edward Roger Hackley, all of Amissville; two brothers, Bernard R. Weaver of Culpeper and Carl William Weaver of Amissville; four grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held yesterday, Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Amissville Methodist Church with the Rev. W. A. Layman officiating. Interment was in the family section of the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were E. G. Hackley, S. W. Riley, E. J. Hitt, Roy James, John Tapp and Charlie Compton.
Charles H. Jefferies
Charles Henry Jeffries, 77, of Amissville died Thursday morning, July 17, 1969 at his home. He was a native of Fauquier County, a son of the late Alexander and Frances Fewell Jeffries, and a veteran of World War I.
A funeral service was held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Royston Funeral Home, Marshall and interment was in Marshall Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Sinclair of Amissville; one sister, Mrs. Ada Welch of Fairfax; two brothers, Ora Jeffries of Round Hill and Lewis Jeffries of The Plains.
