Coon Hunt
At Scuffle Hill
The recently organized Senior 4-H Club sponsored a Coon Hunt Wednesday, December 3. Herbert “Humpy” Smoot and son Larry served as coon hunt Masters. Hosts for this event were Mr. and Mrs. C. B. Palmer of Scuffle Hill.
Despite the snow flurries the 19 4-H members had a rollicking good time. One coon was treed. A “Hunt Breakfast” of hot dogs and soft drinks followed the chase.
Attending were the following, all of whom do not appear in the picture: Susan Dodson, Tommy Walter, John Dodson, Ronald Dodson, Stevie Dodson, Roger Dodson, Fred Dodson, Rickey Gore, Gail Updike, John Deal, Judy Alther, Patsy Payne, Terry Russell, Betty Jenkins, Sandra Payne, Amy Palmer, Cassie Coates, Martha O’Bannon and t Wendy Brown. Also County Agents Rap Owens and Lee Brumback.
Garden Club Luncheon Scheduled Dec. 20th
The annual Christmas luncheon of the Rappahannock County Garden Club will be held in the home of Mrs. J. Howard Waddell, Hobby Hills Farm in Boston, Virginia on December 20th at one o’clock. Reservations should be made as soon as possible by calling either of the hostesses, Mrs. Eleanor Cordle or Mrs. Waddell.
Christmas gifts will be exchanged after the wrappings have been judged.
