were involved in a slight collision in front of Baldwin’s Grocery just west of Washington on January 2. According to Trooper R. M. Dodson, the bus was making a left turn into the store when the car attempted to pass. Otho Clifton Hill jr. of Culpeper was operator of the bus and John Wesley Gallagher of Culpeper was driving a 64 Plymouth. Damage was set at $250 to the car and $25 to the bus. There were no injuries. Two vehicles were involved in a collision on Route 522 east of Sperryville on December 29. A 62 Dodge tank truck operated by James Thomas Mastin of Richardsville and owned by F. R. Simpson, Inc. of Culpeper and a 67 Chevrolet pickup operated by Gary Leon Spielman of Keedysville, Md. ran together. Both were traveling south as the tanker made a left tum into a driveway and the pickup attempted to pass. The pickup truck was owned by C. W. Wright Construction Company of Richmond.
Spielman was charged with failing to yield the right of way. He sustained cuts of the face and bruised left shoulder.
A hit and run crash occurred on Route 231 on January 3 at the Rappahannock- Madison county line. The 63 Ford operated by Robert Bernard Lillard ol Sperry ville was struck by another vehicle which failed to stop. Damage was estimated at $600.
A single car crash occurred in Amissville at the intersection of Routes 211 and 642 on December 30. A 68 Ford was forced off the road by an unidentified car. Leslie William Wolff of Hagerstown, Md. was the operator of the Ford which was damaged to the extent of $900. Mrs. Evelyn Wolff sustained contusions of the forehead and leg and was taken to Fauquier Hospital, Warren ton. Trooper P. P. Dicks investigated the above crashes.
