Mr. and Mrs. John T. Woodward Jr. of Castleton announce the engagement of their daughter, Diane Marie, to Howard Jackson Myers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Myers of Rixeyville. Miss Woodward is a senior at Rappahannock County High School. Mr. Myers is a 1968 graduate of Culpeper County High School and is serving a tour of duty with the U. S. Army and is stationed in Colorado at present. No date has been set for the wedding.

Mrs. Harry Trescott has received word of the death of her sister-in-law, Mrs. Carlton Myers of Honeoye Falls, N. Y. Mrs. Myers has visited here frequently. Jack Brown and son David of Hamilton visited Mr. and Mrs. Rodes Brown on Saturday and hiked to Old Rag Mountain. Sunday dinner guests in the Brown home were Major and Mrs. Paul Thompson and daughter, Ann Rodes of Fork Union. . Mr. and Mrs. Ray Dwyer of Elkwood were Friday dinner guests of Lee Cornell and visited other relatives and friends.
Recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Sonny Brown were Mrs. Brown’s brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Marcel! Provoyuer and family of Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Mr. and Mrs. Brown and daughters spent Sunday in Richmond with Mr. and Mrs. AI Castaldia and family.
Miss Mary Jane Morris of Charlottesville spent the weekend with Mrs. Lee Thornton.
Miss Lucille Brown, who spent the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Wood, returned to her home in Richmond on Saturday. S/Sgt. Ronald Pullen arrived at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. James Pullen on Dec. 28 after a tour of duty in Vietnam. He received his discharge from the U. S. Army at Fort Lewis, Washington.
Mr. and Mrs. Francis Updike who spent the holidays with Mr. and Mrs. Fred W. Schaefer returned to Biloxi, Miss, on Friday.
