Mrs. J. P. Cook
Mre. Ruth Eastham Cook, 78, of Flint Hill, wife of James Philip Cook, died in the Lynn Cara Center of the Warren Memorial Hospital, Wednesday, December 31,1969.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o’clock in the Flint Hill United Methodist Church’ by the Rev. Jerry Campbell and the Rev. Norman Flythe. Interment was in the Flint Hill Cemetery.
Mrs. Cook was born at Flint Hill Nov. 3, 1891, a daughter of the late Charles Clinton Eastham and "Ruth Eva Alexandria Eastham. She was a member of the Flint Hill United Methodist Church.
Surviving with her husband are four sons, James W. Cook of Norfolk, Robert E. Cook of Front Royal, the Rev. Marvin C. Cook of Berryville and Wilmer B. Cook of Newport News; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret C. Roberson of Bowling Green, Ky., and Mrs.. Evelyn C. Walker of Falls Church; four sisters, Mrs. Emma E. Coppage of Sandston, Mrs. Virginia E. Hand of Hyatts viile, Md., Miss Mamie Eastham of Manassas and Mrs. Ada Bowersett of Salt Lake City, Utah. Pallbearers were William Bowersett, Braxton Coppage, Richard Cook, James Cook, jr., Emory Russell, Wallace Russell, Robert Glatterbuck and Dabney Eastham.
Mrs. Cora
A funeral service for Mrs. Cora Ellen Nophan, 71, of Washington, D. C. Was held Sunday at Geest Funeral Chapel, Culpeper, conducted by the Rev. John Gabbert. Interment was in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Norman, widow of James Norman, died Wednesday, December 31, 1969, in Fairfax Hospital. She was the daughter of the late William and Lessie Settle Scott of Viewtown and a member of Forest Grove Baptist Church. She had lived in Washington, D. C. for the past 15 years.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Edward Scott and Mrs. Victoria Corder, both of Amissville, and Mrs. William P. Norman of Front Royal; one brother, Moffett Scott of Viewtown; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr*. Nena Cannon
A funeral service for Nena Belle Cannon of Castleton was held Tuesday, December 30, at 2:30 p.m. at the Geest Funeral Chapel with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Mrs. Cannon, 76, widow of James Franklin Cannon, died Sunday, December 28, 1969 at Culpeper Memorial Hospital. She was a native of Rileyville, Page County, daughter of the late Alfred B. and Betty Huffman Hockman. She moved to Castleton in 1915 and operated a general store there for a number of years. She also served as acting postmaster at Castleton for several years. Surviving are two sons, Ray T. Cannon and Alphaeus F. Cannon, both of Castleton; five grandchildren; and three sisters, Mrs. Ray Cline of Staunton, Mias Mamie Hockman of Rileyville and Mrs. Clarence Ford of Winchester.
