New Year’s Day luncheon guests of Mr. and Mrs'. Charles C. Burke at their home on Blue Ridge Avenue were Mr. and Mrs. Jennings Burke of Alexandria. Evening guests were Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Carver, Mrs. Guy Burke and Mrs. J. M. Liilard, of Washington. Sunday dinner guests of the Burkes were Mr. and Mrs. John Metzger and son of Lorton.
Mrs. T. C. Lea returned home after spending the holidays with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. JohnjCargill and family in Bedford.
First Class Sgt. and Mrs. George Terry and family of Hampton spent from December 26 through the 29th with Mrs. B. R. Armel. Mrs. W. F. Moffett, Frank, Page and Carter Moffett and Jimmie Jenkins spent New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day in Springfield with the Rev. and Mrs. C. E. Buxton. The young people attended New Year’s parties in Springfield and Kensington, Md. with college friends.
The Rev. and Mrs. William M. Hargett and three daughters spent four days of the week of December 29 with Mrs. Hargett’s brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. Richard West in Haddonfield, N. J. and with her parents Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Kell in Millville, N. J. Miss Mildred Fletcher and Nick Slater of Richmond were Saturday overnight guests of Mrs. W. M. Fletcher.
