Men To Conduct Baptist Church Worship

On Sunday, January 25, the Virginia Baptist Churches will observe Baptist Men’s Day. In Amissville, the entire morning worship will be conducted by a number of men performing the duties normally carried out by the pastor. The service, as arrangedby the Rev. Charles Kindred, will include special music by an all mens group and a double sextet identified as the Father and Son Group. It has been announced that the morning’s message will be given by R. B. Settle with Nelson Burner leading in both the responsive reading and the morning prayer. The service is scheduled at the usual 11 o’clock worship.

Lions Hear Mr. Miller

J. Newbill Miller, chairman of the Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors, led a dynamic discussion on County government at the Rappahannock Lions January 14th meeting.

The three major items of the budget, Welfare, Administration, and Education were the topics discussed most thoroughly.

Chairman Miller concluded his presentation with an appeal to all civic organizations and citizens to support the counties trash disposal system.

The Lions have a new supply of brooms. Contact any Lion member for a broom made by the Virginia Workshop for the Blind.

Wilson Burke and Buster Hitt were welcomed to the Club as new members.

Dr. William McCoy, President of the Lord Fairfax Community College will be the guest speaker at the Lions January 28th i meeting.
