Marriage vows were exchanged by Mrs. Barbara Lacy Callans and Dr. Walter Bluford Kilby at two o’clock in the afternoon Saturday, January 17, 1970 at the F.T. Valley Baptist Church near Slate Mills, Virginia. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Lacy of Richmond and the bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Kilby of Sperryville.
The double-ring ceremony was conducted by the Rev. H. E. Nicholson of Fork Union and the Rev. William Harrison, pastor of the F.T. Church. Arrangements of white gladioli and mums decorated the altar and lighted tapers completed the setting.
Mrs. Thurman Mitchell was organist and Mrs. Nelson Revercomb was vocalist.
Mr. Lacy escorted his daughter to the altar. She wore a long gown of ivory brocaded silk, fashioned with a chapel train and self-fabric bows at the Empire waistline. Her veil of illusion was held by a matching fabric bow > and she carried a nosegay of white roses, carnations and gardenia. .Miss Sarah Stevens of -Richmond, the maid of honor, wore a long gown of wine velvet with matching headpiece, and carried a nosegay of pink rosebuds and white carnations.
Bridesmaids were Mrs. Betty Kay Lowry of Richmond, Miss Jane Burt Kilby of Sperryville, both sisters of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Virginia Dearheart of Charleston, South Carolina, sister of the bride. They also wore long *• gowns of wine velvet like that of the honor attendant. Best man was Dr. Stephen Cendella of San Joaquin Valley, California and ushers were Kirby Updike of Leesburg, William Lowry of Richmond, Thomas B. Massie, Washington, Virginia and I Dr. Pasquale Finelli of Philadelphia.

Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Steve DeMent, III of Sperryville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Bonnie Lee, to John Thomas Versaggi, son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Versaggi of Tampa, Florida. Miss DeMent is a graduate of Rappahannock County High School. Her fiance graduated from Plant High School and is currently attending the University of Tampa. A June wedding is planned.
