RARE MAP An old and rare map of Rappahannock County, prepared in 1866 under the direction of the U. 5. Army Corps of Engineers, has just been hung in the Library. This map shows a multitude of mills in the county, most of which no longer exist. It was a treasured possession of Mr. William Curtis Campbell, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors at the time the Library was founded and one of the first public-spirited citizens to become a strong supporter of the project. The map, beautifully framed and covered with nonglare glass, was donated in his memory by his widow, Mayes Dudley Campbell, and daughter, Mrs. Jackson Paulson of Newport News.
