Two vehicles collided at the intersection of Routes 211 and 522

in Sperryville Thursday af- j ternoon; however no injuries occurred and property damage was minor. According to investigating officer W. A. Buntin, John Robert Kletter of McLean operating a 70 Pontiac and Ruth Ann Eastham of Washington, Va. in a 64 Chevrolet were involved.

Both vehicles were heading east on Route 211 about 4:30 p.m. when Kletter, making a right turn into Route 522, was struck in the rear by the Eastham car. Damage to the Kletter car was set at $300 and at $150 to the Eastham car. Ruth Ann Eastham was charged with following too closely.

Mr. Kletter sustained a contusion of his right knee and injured shoulder. Marie D. Kletter of McLean received bruises of both legs and arms. They were taken to Culpeper Memorial Hospital by Rappahannock Rescue Squad where they were treated and released.

At 2:10 p.m. Saturday on Route 231 a mile and a half south of Sperryville a single-vehicle crash occurred. Robert Lee Turman of Haymarket operating a 1969 Ford Pickup apparently had a blow out on a front tire, lost control of the truck, ran off the road and came to rest in a stream. Damage was estimated at $600 to the truck, and no injuries resulted.

Early Saturday morning in the Town of Washington Charles William Jenkins of Washington, Va. lost control of his 70 Ford Maverick on the curve at the intersection of Routes 211 and 628. The vehicle struck a rock wall on the left of the road and skidded off onto the shoulder. Damage to the car was estimated at $250. Jenkins was charged with reckless driving by Trooper W. A. Buntin who investigated both of the above crashes.
