news, when the same news can be heard over a radio. There are others who will hire a taxi cab to ride five or six blocks to pick up their welfare check when they could walk it, or bus it. Many parents want their children to become a Booker T. Washington or Washington Carver when they have only inherited loud mouth for singing hymns. There are some who spend a lifetime gathering gold, silver and house, satisfying their wants but not their needs. God’s Holy Word that has not failed mankind yet tells us in The Acts of the Apostles - 8th Ch., 27th thru 30th vs., about an Ethiopian who had all that he wanted - power, silver and gold. God’s word tells us that while the Ethiopian rode in his chariot he, by chance, started reading the Holy Word of God, but he did not understand it, and while he was in a confused state of mind, God’s apostle, Phillip, happened on the scene, and asked the Ethiopian if he understood what he was reading. He said, “No, unless some man show me.” Then Phillip explained to the Ethiopian the difference between what he wanted and what he needed. Phillip’s explanation to the Ethiopian showed that what he needed was within, and as soon as his belief was strengthened, he went away happy. Happiness will be ours too when we leave off our wants and take care of our needs through belief in God, ourselves and what our country stands for.
