“The Gravin’ Image,” a rock group composed entirely of Rappahannock County High School students, will head the musical pageant, a feature of the Fourth of July festivities which will be held at Rappahannock Library in Washington, Va. The aand is made up of C. G. Thornhill who plays the organ, Eddie Huff and Billy Payne with guitars and Doug Larimer on the drums. They will present some patriotic songs suitable to the occasion and follow with many popular numbers from their own repertoire. The musical pageant will begin at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, July 4. Another feature of the pageant is a group of spiritual singers of all ages being organized by Mrs. Rachel Ay lor. They will give a program of their religious and folk music. Brenda Printz, a local high school student accompanying herself with the guitar will present patriotic songs and a poenv, “Children Learn What They Live,” will be recited by Natalie Swindler of the local elementary school. There will be a square dance demonstration by a group of elementary students and spectators are invited to participate. Mrs. Mary Quaintance has arranged the musical program. “Huckleybuck,” a baseball tossing game and “Saucer Lagoon,” a penny pitching game, are two of the fun activities scheduled for the Fourth celebration which are being organized by Mrs. Ian Pryde.
