Prices declined sharply for feeder cattle and calves around the southeastern market circuit during the week ended October 21, USDA’s Agricultural Marketing Service reports.
Leading factors influencing this reversal in price movement, which incidently had carried recent values to new record highs, included dry weather in the main destination areas of the Southwest and a lack of readily available trucks to transport the large number of cattle normally purchased for shipment toother areas, principally the Southwest.
