steers and heifers in the Midwest this week, not much net change took place. However, choice steer beef trended 50 cents to $1.50 higher in the wholesale car lot trade, while choice heifer beef closed $1.50 higher.
In the Southeast, compared to one week earlier, feeder calves sold $1 to $3 lower with some sales on 200 to 300 pounds $4 to $5 off. Steers and heifers trended 50 cents lower for the most part.
Slaughter cows ranged steady to $1 lower, the overall trade 50 cents off. Calves were uneven but mainly steady to $1 lower.
