Williams denounces
the 'welfare monster’
MURAT WILLIAMS, the Democratic candidate for the Seventh District seat now held by Republican Kenneth Robinson, says he will battle the “welfare monster” if elected.
Said Williams, in a press release from Madison Mills:
“No one likes the American Welfare system.
“The taxpayer hates it, the family on welfare resents it, Congress shudders at it and the thoughtful critic sadly shakes his head.
“There is something we can do about the welfare monster. To do it, we need tax reform.
“We need to guarantee to people on the bottom of the economic pile that Uncle Sam will not take away in taxes what little income they earn.
“We all know there are able-bodied people who would rather live on welfare than live on work. We also know that when we tax people with small incomes, those inconfes can look even smaller than welfare payments.
“The answer is to revise our unfair tax structure and make going to work more profitable — without making it more expensive to the employer. That means cutting back taxes in the bottom bracket.
“My goal in Congress is to straighten out taxes. America must stop taking from its low income families what little they earn.” C
