Colonel H. W. Burgess, Superintendent of State Police. has called attention to a 1972 legislative change in the permissive dates for the use of studded tires.

This year, they may not be used until November 1. instead of October 15 as was permitted in the past.

Colonel Burgess said the 1968 General Assembly enacted a law permitting their use until April 15 of that year and from October 15 to April 15 of 1969, on an experimental basis.
