My apologies for using a four letter, Anglo-Saxon word in a family paper. The word is deer.

The law quoted by John T. Hanna does, indeed, boggle the mind. Twentieth century deer should properly be designated as vermin. They are destructive, dangerous and of no benefit to man. However, these useless beasts are vigorously protected by law with an almost fanatical determination.

Using Mr. Hanna’s figures, it is obvious deer constitute a major road
