A total of 15,268 deer bagged during the two-week season West of the Blue Ridge came very close to Game Commission estimates, reports Game Division Chief R. H. Cross.
Decreases from last year’s totals were noted in Alleghany and Augusta counties with slight drops also in Bath and Clarke counties. The total represented an increase of slightly over 1,000 above last year’s total for the western portion of the state.
