Nelson Atkins Jr. of Flint Hill, right, was the winner in the big game contest sponsored annually by Rappahannock Game and Fish Club. He bagged a 163 pound 12 point buck and for that receives the club trophy from last year’s winner, Doug Calhoun of Front Royal. Club membership is 33 and of these 28 entered the game contest. Deer were taken by 13 of those entering. Entry fees from the contest are used to sponsor the hunter safety class at Rappahannock County High School which begins next week.
