Summer classes

SUMMER CLASSES for pre-school children entering the first grade and reading classes for selected students have been held at Rappahannock County Elementary School. Last Thursday was visiting day for parents of the summer school students. At this time patrons were given a resume of the activities directed toward orienting youngsters for the fall opening of school.

Total enrollment of the summer school was 78 students. This is 97% of those who were eligible to attend. Remedial reading for 16 or next session’s third graders was provided.

The program for the first graders included diagnostic activities and tests, library orientation, introduction to media and resource materials and other learning aids, dental and health services, cafeteria use, articulation and audiometric tests and
