AS QUESTIONS continued, Dr. LeGarde expressed a recurring query to Simmons: “Can the money be spent on other means (of solution)?”—other than a collector system and plant. Simmons again said it could.
Lester Deal thought the engineering questions “best left up to you people,” but that up to now “you’ve been talking about a lot of money, and it scares people.”

IN ANSWER to a question from Carson Johnson about Highway Department plans in Sperryville, Dr. LeGarde grinned: “I even went to the State Highway people hoping they would buy Sperryville. They said that was one of the possibilities, but that they also have two plans now to go around Sperryville.”
