began as a trainee with Southern States Cooperative in Bristol, VA. in 1948 and has been continually in Co-op management except for two years during the Korean War in which he was in the 101st Airborn Division of the U.S. Army.
He was selected by board of directors as general manager of Culpeper Farmers’ Co-operative in 1961. During his 12 years as general manager, the organization has grown in volume to an expected $8,000,000 annual sales in 1973 from just over $2,000,000 in 1961.
