AREA FRUIT SCHOOL—Apple and peach growers are invited to the Rappahannock-Madison Area Fruit School next Wednesday, February 20, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., Graves Mountain Lodge, Syria. The program was planned by local fruit growers. And the morning •' session, staring pr^ -'ntly at 10 a.m. will include: Control of Corking Oi .^pples, Orchard Weed Control, New Developments in Mouse Control, and 1974 Spray t Panel.
LUnch will be served—courtesy of Chemagro, Stauffer Chemical, andMiller Chemical Companies. Following lunch, Purcell McCue, Jr. will discuss the latest on O.S.H.A., and Marketing and Promotion of Processing Apples.
C. E. Johnson will moderate a fruit grower panel on apple production. And C. L. McCombs, Head, V.P.I. Department of Horticulture, will summarize and adjourn the meeting at 2:30 p.m.
APPLE PRUNING DEMONSTRATION—Weather permitting, George Williams and Ed. Phillips will conduct a pruning demonstration in Captain George Sharp’s Orchard in Harris Hollow at 4 p.m. February 20. Backyard hobbists as well as commercial growers, are invited.
