I do not think there will be, and I do not favor, any general tax increases in this session. There are almost 50 reports from legislative study committees on various subjects. Most of these recommend new legislation, but I doubt that any major legislation, except welfare reform bills, will be passed in this session and the major legislative items from study committee reports will probably be deferred until next year or later to allow more time for consideration by the legislature.
