THIS COULD HAVE been called an eventful week. We had preaching, singing and shouting in our church. I take that back, we don’t shout anymore; we might feel like it sometimes. And Sunday we had the Rappahannock County High School Chorus. They sang a song about everything being beautiful which everyone seemed to enjoy. I did, even though one of the girls in the chorus shook her head in a negative manner after taking a good look at me. I lost my mother-in-law this week. She was a Bible reading Christian, a good woman. Guess I loved her because she would build up my ego by telling me what a nice person she thought I was. Maybe I shouldn t have fooled her. Then, my wife had a birthday. I tailored an original card for her which she didn’t appreciate. We also celebrated Mother’s Day with her.
I saw old love re-enflame. “Old love is gold love, old love is best.’ “The heart that truly loves never forgets, etc.”
In Mom’s memory book there was a poem that ended with this thought—
“And—What could make God’s Heaven
One half so bright and fair
As knowing that our loved Ones
Are waiting for us there?”□
