A FOLK ARTS and Crafts Festival featuring more than 50 exhibitors and performers will be open to the public at Lord Fairfax Community College Sunday afternoon, May 19, between noon and 5 p.m. All youth and adult residents of the northern Shenandoah Valley region and surrounding areas are invited to visit the college.
The community college, located between Route 11 and Route 81 approximately 12 miles south of Winchester, is sponsoring the informal festival as an open house activity for students and area residents. Admission and refreshments are free with ample parking available at the college campus.
Educational demonstrations of traditional and contemporary folk crafts, skill techniques, and music will be stressed throughout the Sunday afternoon event. The informal theme will be one of shar-' ing and learning between the craftsmen, performers, musicians and visitors taking part. The educational facilities of the college will also be open for public observation.
