Miss Linda Waddell of Alexandria spent the weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Waddell. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Frazier, Jr. and daughter Michelle were Saturday supper guests of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Atkins in Sperryville. The “Quilter Club” held a surprise birthday luncheon Tuesday in honor of Mrs. Russell Dean at the home of Mrs. Howard Waddell. Other guests attending included Mrs. Ann Kilby, Mrs. Virginia Burke, Mrs. Roslyn Coates, Mrs. Ruby Driskill, Mrs. Florence Desmond, Mrs. Geneva Fincham and Mrs. Marsh.
Mrs. Calvin McCloud accompanied by her daughter Mrs. Arthur Morrison of Vienna and sons Robert McCloud of Manassas and Gene McCloud of Madison spent the weekend in Haddonfield, N. J. and attended the funeral Saturday of Mrs. McCloud’s aunt Mrs. Lillie D. Fincham. Dale McCloud of Manassas spent the time with his father Calvin McCloud.
Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Racer of Front Royal were Sunday guests of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Leake.
Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston spent Mother’s Day with their son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs. Paul Karnes in Culpeper. They were met there by their grandsons Cadet William G. Karnes of V.M.I. and Jeff Karnes of V.P.I. Other guests were Mrs. Virgie Jenkins, Mrs. Mecie Thornhill and Mr. and Mrs. Russell Guinn.
