“How Plants Help the Environment” was the subject of a poster and essay contest sponsored by the Culpeper District Soil and Water Conservation District. Rappahannock elementary students took first prize in each category in competition which included the counties of Orange, Madison, Culpeper and Greene, along with Rappahannock. From left to right are Frances Gray, first in the essay division; Penny Chadwell, third in essay; Kristi Clarke, first in poster; Cynthia Bywaters, third in poster; Duane Fincham, second in poster; Carol Sue Fincham, second in essay.
