Route 211 is designated as part of the state’s arterial network of highways, all of which are multilaned facilities.
This project would consist of four lanes of pavement, with the new lanes being 12 feet wide and the existing lanes used wherever possible.
Two lanes would serve eastbound traffic and two westbound traffic. The eastbound and westbound lanes would be separated by a grass median of varying width in areas other than Sperryville.
In Sperryville, four 12-foot lanes would be developed with no median separator. Curb, gutter and sidewalks would be provided on both sides of the street.
FOR THE benefit of interested citizens, representatives of the Highway Department will be in the Sperryville Fire Hall at 8 p.m. Tuesday (the night before the public hearing) to informally discuss questions concerning the proposed project.
