Three Angus calves were killed by a motorist Saturday night on Route 211, a mile east of Washington. Ronnie Ray Smoot of Front Royal, driving a 1974 Ford through a heavy rain, struck the animals which belonged to Tom Lee. Damage to the car was estimated at two thousand dollars by Trooper J. A. Watson.
May 30 two vehicles were involved in a collision on Route 211* west of Washington. Both were westbound. Guy Glosser of Stanley, driving a 1973 Ford, attempted to pass Rebecca Wright of Louisa, in a 1973 Chrysler, as she pulled into the passing lane.
Trooper Watson charged both drivers: Miss Wright for failing to yield the right of way, and Glosser for failing to give an audible signal. □
